Snow King Ski Resort is located in Jackson Hole in Wyoming. It sits at the base of Snow King Mountain, which rises dramatically into the blue skies from the deep valley floor. It is not far from the center of the town, and was first built in 1939. In fact, it was one of the US' first skiing resorts. Today it has grown to a large establishment with a little bit of something for everyone from skiing to snowboarding to simple dining pleasures. It is a retreat that many would dearly love to call home.

If nostalgia is in the minds of tourists and skiers when they climb the heights of Snow King Mountain in Jackson Hole in Wyoming, it is not surprising. As they shoot down at high speeds to the valley floor below and the waiting Snow King Ski Resort, no doubt they must know the history behind the resort and even the mountain itself. Not just skiers flock to the area, but many others. Even retirees enjoy relaxing on the open patios and riding the lifts for a scenic view of the surrounding area.

The Snow King is also known to some as 'Racer's Mountain', famed for its production of both international and national skiing teams. It is open twenty four hours a day and has snowmaking facilities that can extend to one hundred and ten acres. In fact the local skiing school is renowned for its high level attention to training even beginners.

Snow King has some thirty one runs and five lifts, taking some almost three thousand people up the mountain each hour. On average the mountain experiences about one hundred and fifty inches of snow annually. The skiing season runs from November to April.
