Montana's Big Sky is home to the new Moonlight Basin Ski Resort, a mere baby in comparison to the surrounding resorts, but still packing a punch with thousands of acres of snow covered trails and runs that delight even the fussiest of skier. Skiing at the resort is a treat as guests are offered some of the best services and amenities in the industry, making a day out on the slopes one that they can remember and encouraging them to come back again and again, year after year.
The resort offers more than eighty downhill runs with six different lifts. In fact, it has the state's only six person chair (high-speed). It has since teamed up with major local resorts to offer a combination of services on one free ticket, giving access to more than two hundred and twenty two runs and twenty three lifts, covering over five thousand acres of prime skiing terrain. In fact, as the place is so new it is hard to find crowds anywhere as the place is still being discovered and expanded at an incredible rate.
Moonlight has a summit of about eleven thousand feet with its base at about seven thousand. There are a total of ninety two chutes, glades, bowls and well-marked trails. In fact, the resort's longest downhill run is about 2.8 miles with enough snow to keep everyone happy – about 400 inches annually.
