Welcome to 'Cody Country'. The town of Cody, Wyoming was founded in 1896 by William F. 'Buffalo Bill' Cody. Cody is the gateway to the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The one hour drive from Cody to Yellowstone takes you through the scenic 'Wapiti Valley', which President Teddy Roosevelt called the most scenic fifty miles in America. Just two miles from the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park is Buffalo Bill Cody's original hunting lodge 'Pahaska'. You may also access the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park from Cody. A short and stunningly beautiful drive takes you through 'Sunlight Basin' to Yellowstones northeast entrance and Cooke City, Montana.

Cody is best known for its variety of guest ranches and family-related activities, nightly summer rodeo, fall big game hunting, and is home to The Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The museum is known for its vast collection of western exhibits including the Buffalo Bill Museum, Plains Indian Museum, the Cody Firearms Museum, and The Whitney Gallery of Western Art.
