Attractions
Visitors are drawn to Yellowstone by the millions during summer, to witness the area's many natural and cultural attractions. These same attractions are available for enjoyment during the winter months, with the added benefits of smaller crowds and plenty of snow to play in. The mountains are cloaked in snow and the thermal features spout and boil as always, billowing steam into the crisp winter air. Large mammals venture down from the highlands, gathering in valleys to weather the long winter months. Bands of wooly Bison huddle around geyser basins for warmth. Moose and deer are known to wander the streets of the surrounding communities where you will find yourself enjoying the region's cozy lodges. Winter provides new and exciting ways to enjoy our natural attractions, and with fewer vacationers in the area, "getting away from it all" becomes a reality!
